Small Christmas Wreaths Ideas for Kids

You can find some small Christmas wreaths ideas for kids to have a fun decorating session to welcome the holy Christmas celebration!

You can get your kids involved in making their own small Christmas wreaths, which they definitely can fashion from different interesting materials such as buttons and pretzels. You can ask them to hang their wreaths on the tree, the front door or around the house. They surely will be proud to have their own creations hung and embellish the entire decoration. To begin it with, you can check some small Christmas wreaths ideas for kids down below.

First is the button wreath. You can cut a 10-inch length of 16-gauge wire for each wreath. And then you can start using needle nose pliers to form a loop on one end of the wire. It is large enough for the ribbon to fit through. You can then direct the kids to string buttons on the other end of the wire. You should watch kids carefully around sharp wire ends. Don’t forget to use any color buttons to make your wreath, though the wreath will look best if the buttons are all the same size. You have to help the kids shape the wreaths into circles too. Then freely stick the free end of the wire into the loop, twisting it around the loop to anchor it. Then you can thread a ribbon through the loop for hanging.

Second is the pretzel wreath. You can make a wreath using classic crossed-arm hard pretzels. This pretzel can be any size, but it should all be the same size in one wreath. You should make miniature wreath ornaments with small pretzels or big wreaths with larger Dutch pretzels. Then you can arrange as many pretzels as you like in a circular shape on a sheet of waxed paper. Then you could pour craft glue over the pretzels to adhere them together. And allow the pretzels to dry. After that, you can arrange a second layer over the first layer. Pour glue over the second layer. Right after the glue has dried, you can loop a red or green ribbon in and out of the pretzels, tying the ribbon into a bow at the bottom of the wreath. Then you should tie a loop of ribbon on the back of the wreath for displaying. You should be sure the kids understand the glued pretzel wreaths are not edible.
